Ryan Reynolds seemingly has begun training for Deadpool 3 ahead of making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. It has been over a decade since Reynolds made his first appearance as Wade Wilson. While his role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a train wreck, it gave the actor a passion to bring the Merc with a Mouth to life properly. He finally did so in 2016 with the release of Deadpool, which became a massive box office and pop culture hit. Reynolds went on to return as Deadpool in Deadpool 2. His portrayal became so popular that even Marvel Studios could not ignore him when Disney acquired 20th Century.

Development on Deadpool 3 has been underway for a few years now, but it was only in recent months that the movie made real progress. Original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese were brought back to write a new version of the script, while Free Guy and The Adam Project director Shawn Levy joined as well. Despite the positive movement, Deadpool 3 was not part of Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con 2022 announcements and was left out of the Multiverse Saga slate, leaving room for more speculation about when Ryan Reynolds will make his MCU debut.

They settle into the rooms of an old castle, together with Cassandra, a rock star playing along in the contest. Wanting to get a leg up on each other, they all try to sneak out and find the prize before it starts, to no avail. When the contest begins, they start to die one-by-one from a mysterious source within the castle. Figuring that evil forces are at work, the remaining members race to stop the assailant from finishing their work.

Just like the original, Tim Burton's legacy sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice mixes the director's signature elaborate set design with several real-world locations. The result is that, despite its fantastical story, the movie always has a foothold in reality, making use of several distinctive landmarks to enhance the narrative. These locations don't just mirror the rural American setting of the story, but also expand the scope to include some other regional and international settings.

Ever since the success of the original 1988 Beetlejuice, plans for a follow-up have sporadically faltered and struggled to gain traction. An initial Hawaiian-set sequel was canned after Burton and star Michael Keaton became sidetracked by Batman Returns, while other planned projects failed before they began. 36 years after the original, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice now promises to pick up the story of Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), introducing the character's daughter, Astrid. While story details are sketchy, the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer has confirmed that several settings will be retained from the first film, informing the movie's filming locations.
