A meditative visual poem, this film celebrates women, life, and freedom, capturing the concept of revolution through breathtaking visuals and the rich cultural history of Iran.

Iran is once again in the spotlight at this year's Cannes Film Festival. This Friday, recently exiled filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof will present his film "The Seeds of the Sacred Fig", selected in Official Competition. Like Rasoulof, many Iranian artists have faced prison or exile. The photography exhibition “Women, Life, Freedom”, showcased at the Hôtel Le Majestic for the duration of the festival, pays tribute to their courage with a series of giant portraits by photographer Moja. But many young Kurds are fleeing to join the 'peshmerga', Kurdish military forces: 'We asked for our rights. instead we got bullets in the head', says one student recruit who escaped from Tehran. Many of the recruits are women escaping Iran's oppressive gender rules. 'Women have no rights. I didn't come here for myself. I came here for my friends. To free them', says one recruit. Komala, the Kurdish organisation helping people escape says it wants to help establish a secular Iran. 'People come to be peshmerga from a society ruled by the Iranian regime. It's collapsed educationally, socially and economically. Komala is trying to give them back their identity', says one peshmerga leader.

Auf dem Höhepunkt der internationalen Spannungen zwischen den USA und dem Iran akzeptiert der charismatische afroamerikanische Sportler Kevin Sheppard das Angebot, einer Basketball-Mannschaft im Iran beizutreten. Dort trifft Sheppard auf eine ganz andere Welt. Durch seine ungewohnte amerikanische Spielweise wird er sofort zum wichtigsten Spieler seines Teams. Schnell liegen ihm auch die jugendlichen Fans zu füßen und eifern dem Mann aus Amerika nach.

Doch Sheppard erfährt neben all dem Ruhm auch, was es heißt, in einer anderen Kultur zu leben. Frauen dürfen nicht Basketball spielen, an einigen Veranstaltungen dürfen sie nicht mal teilnehmen, obwohl sie genauso begeisterte Sportfans sind wie die Männer. Was aus dem Wunsch erwuchs, das Unbekannte zu entdecken, entwickelt sich für den Sportler zu einer emotionalen Achterbahnfahrt, als er vor dem Hintergrund sozialer Aufstände ein überraschendes Bündnis mit drei iranischen Frauen eingeht.

The trailer gave us more "kilig" moments and helped us get to know lead characters Gab dela Cuesta (Kathryn Bernardo) and Dos (Daniel Padilla) even more.

Gab is a "close to perfect girl" who's already set to wed her long-time boyfriend Jayson (Matteo Guidicelli). But her world suddenly turned upside down when she discovers that she is already married - but to a total stranger named Dos!

As she figures out with Dos how this unlikely incident happened between them, Gab starts breaking her own rules to survive their crazily confusing situation. But with the changes in her well-planned life seems to come a change of heart as well. Oh no! Will she walk down the aisle towards her long-time lover, or will she take the plunge with a perfect stranger?
