While living in the ore refinery until she is rescued by her employers, Ripley discovers the horrifying reason for her crash: An alien stowaway. As the alien matures and begins to kill off the inhabitants, Ripley is unaware that her true enemy is more than just the killer alien.

Max (Clive Owen) denies his homosexuality when taken to a concentration camp under the Nazi regime, and chooses to wear a yellow star denoting Jewishness rather than the pink one reserved for homosexuality. While there, Max falls for the out-and-proud Horst (Lothaire Bluteau), and in the horrific, de-humanised environment their erotic attachment sustains them, but also lays them open to attack.
