👾 Alien: Romulus

Director Fede Alvarez's upcoming Alien film has received an official title: Alien: Romulus. While previously used as a working title, the adoption of "Romulus" aligns with the franchise's tradition of drawing from religious and mythological themes.

Disney CEO Bob Iger unveiled the official title during the company's Q1 earnings call. Penned and directed by Uruguayan horror maestro Fede Alvarez, renowned for works like Don't Breathe and the 2013 Evil Dead, the film concept was enthusiastically embraced by 20th Century, making it a top priority for production.

Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), Alien: Romulus delves into the narrative: "Young people from a distant world must confront the most fearsome life form in the universe."

The cast of Romulus features Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Aileen Wu, Spike Fearn, David Jonsson, and Archie Renaux. Positioned as the seventh installment in the primary Alien series, the film stands independent of the Alien TV series currently underway at FX, under the guidance of Noah Hawley. Delays attributed to last year's industry strikes suggest the series won't debut until next year.

Alien: Romulus is slated for theatrical release on August 16, a shift from its original Hulu release plan.

Synopsis:
Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) a poet decides to bury his past life along with his love for Chandni (Rekha) when he meets Shobha (Jaya Bachchan). Shobha's life has come to a standstill after her fiancé Amit's brother Shekhar (Shashi Kapoor) dies in a plane crash.

The Cannonball Run is a 1981 action comedy film. Filmed in Panavision, it was directed by Hal Needham, produced by Hong Kong's Golden Harvest films, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It features an all-star supporting cast, including Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Dom DeLuise, Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Jackie Chan. The film is based on the 1979 running of an actual cross-country outlaw road race in the United States, beginning in Connecticut and ending in California.

It was one of 1981's most successful films at the box office. It was followed by Cannonball Run II (1984), and Speed Zone (1989). This and the 1984 sequel were the final film appearances of actor Dean Martin. It also featured Jackie Chan in his second Hollywood role.
