Synopsis:

Squid Game is a South Korean survival drama streaming television series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix.

Netflix's Squid Game became a massive hit with audiences all over the world. The Korean series solidified its place in the TV history books when it won six Emmy Awards, including Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Lee Jung-jae and Directing for a Drama Series for Hwang Dong-hyuk, in the process becoming the first show not in English to win those awards. We're hungry for more Squid Game.

It took a long time for Squid Game to get officially renewed; the Season 2 pick-up was announced nine months after the series premiered. Along with the show's renewal for a second season, Netflix tweeted a letter from creator Dong-hyuk in which he confirms "a whole new round" of games is in store, plus some some details about Season 2, like who we can expect to see back. Turns out, that terrifying gigantic doll has a "boyfriend,".

There was a lot (and I mean A LOT) of death in Season 1, which makes for a very stripped-down cast going into Season 2. That means lots of new characters will have to be introduced in the future. Dong-hyuk let us know that the main character, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), aka Player 456, will return, along with game overseer "The Front Man" (Lee Byung-hun).

While no one is sure when season 2 of Squid Game will premiere on Netflix, Dong-hyuk said that he's assuming 2023 or 2024.

Fans want Squid Game questions answered in season 2, and there's definitely a lot of excitement for it.
