AFRICA UNITED tells the extraordinary story of three Rwandan children and their bid to achieve their ultimate dream - to take part in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Football World Cup in Johannesburg.

On the way to the vital selection trial, disaster strikes when Fabrice, Dudu and Beatrice board the wrong bus and cross into the Congo. Without papers, money or a believable story, they are escorted to a children's refugee camp. But with considerable ingenuity and sass (and a World Cup wall chart for a map), our pint-sized heroes escape the camp and set off in pursuit of their dream, picking up along the way a "dream team" of displaced kids, who help them negotiate a series of thrilling and hilarious adventures.

During their 3000 mile journey, we encounter an Africa few people ever see; experience an epic adventure across seven countries; and feel the joy, laughter and hope that comes from making an incredible journey together. Asma'a (Hend Sabry) left the colorful comfort of her rural home for the city and is now struggling to raise her teenage daughter and nurse her aging father. The young Egyptian woman is careful around her neighbors and colleagues, for fear that her reputation will be sullied. She suffers from a gall-bladder problem, but no doctor is willing to operate because Asma'a has a secret: she is HIV-positive.

In a world where HIV/AIDS is still stigmatized, Asma'a survives by avoiding any situation that might make it known that she is infected. It takes the fateful intervention of Mohsen (Maged El Kedwani), the bold host of a daring TV show, to teach Asma'a to speak out and fight back against her illness and the ignorance of society.

Sabry shines in the role, which she delivers with deeply affecting grace. Her courage in portraying a marginalized character in circumstances deemed taboo by society is at once humanitarian and artful. Co-starring are the charismatic El Kedwani and the up-and-coming Hani Adel, who plays Asma'a's husband.

Writer/director Amr Salama --whose first film On a Day Like Today had its premiere at ADFF in 2008 --displays masterful cinematography and haunting imagery in this second film, revealing a matured style that is well suited to the story's delicate subject. Based on real-life events, Asma'a tackles thorny issues that will certainly spark heated debate.

Rumors of a live-action Frozen remake from Disney sent fan circles online into a frenzy, and while the project has been discussed a few times over the years nothing official has ever materialized. 2013’s Frozen was an unexpected mega-success for Disney, and is arguably the most successful new franchise from the House of Mouse in the 21st century so far. Based on Chris Henderson's story The Snow Queen, the Frozen movies focus on Elsa and Anna, the Queen and Princess of Arendelle.

Frozen is a tale that combines the power of love between siblings with a talking snowman, a plot that involves a land covered in ice, a mystical queen with superpowers, and some of the best Disney songs in decades. It was an instant hit, as was the sequel Frozen 2 in 2019. Given the popularity of the franchise that still endures a decade later it’s easy to see why the idea of a live-action Frozen remake gained instant popularity.
