High school freshman Hikari Tomonaga (Suzu Hirose 广濑铃) enters Fukui Chuo High School, and joins the cheer dance team in hope of cheering on her crush Kosuke (Mackenyu 真剣佑) at his soccer competition. The team’s Sparta-like teacher Kaoruko Saotome (Yuki Amami 天海祐希); however, has a few rules of her own, which includes a ban on boyfriends and fringes, and declares that they will be aiming for victory in America! The senior members quit the team in defiance, and it is now all up to the newbies and the newly appointed team leader Ayano Tamaki (Ayami Nakajo 中条彩未) to hold the team together. As these girls stumble through their training, amidst quarrels, laughter and tears, the challenge to realise the impossible dream is just beginning.

Chisako (Anne Watanabe) has had long standing conflict with her father Kozo (Eiji Okuda). She finds out he has Alzheimer’s so despite the rift in their relationship she returns home to take care of Kozo. One evening she has an accident with a boy on the road and when she tries to help him she finds evidence that the boy has been subject to abuse. To protect the boy, who has lost his memory, she pretends to be the boy's mother and begins to live with him. During the Farnborough aeronautical show, a Mirage 2000 disappears in the middle of a demonstration. The French military sends Captains Antoine Marchelli and Sébastien Vallois out on patrol over the North Sea, towards the zone where the Mirage disappeared off the radar screens. The pilots discover the plane concealed by an Airbus A340. The Mirage begins to lock into combat position. At the same time, Marchelli and Vallois receive the order to give up the chase without further delay. But it's too late, the Mirage is about to shoot down Vallois; Marchelli shoots it down to protect his crew member. This incident is the starting point of an enormous set-up aimed at hijacking a French fighter plane for terrorist purposes. A set-up whose final act takes place on the 14th of July in the skies above Paris, over the Champs-Elysées, in the presence of the same two pilots, Marchelli and Vallois.

Shakes plods about his duties as party clown, and uses all of his free time getting seriously drunk. Binky, another clown, wins the spot on a local kiddie show, which depresses Shakes even more, and his boss threatens him with unemployment if he can't get his act under control. When someone murders Shakes' boss and makes it look like Shakes did it, he goes undercover, posing as a hated mime, and tries to find information that will clear his name.
