Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has been a pretty controversial film since the release of its first trailer, but this 61-year-old monster movie actually disproves the film's biggest criticism. Legendary's MonsterVerse has received consistently mixed reviews since its inception with 2014's Godzilla, with many fans comparing the movies to the 1954 original when criticizing the films. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is just the latest example of some fans not believing that the newest MonsterVerse movie lives up to the original, with one criticism being prevalent. However, this Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire criticism actually doesn't make sense considering this old Godzilla movie.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the latest installment in Legendary's MonsterVerse, with it teaming up the iconic titular characters once again after their massive battle in 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong. The first trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is out now, showing off the exciting next chapter of the MonsterVerse. The film will see Kong and Godzilla return to the Hollow Earth once again, this time in order to take on a new ape threat: the villainous Skar King. While the film is sure to feature a lot of dumb fun, this hasn't sat well with some MonsterVerse fans, with one criticism consistently being made.

While March is not traditionally the busiest time at the box office, Godzilla x Kong is releasing when the box office is just starting to heat up. Fellow blockbuster hopeful Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire releases the weekend prior, on March 22, along with NEON’s horror film Immaculate. To make things even harder for Godzilla x Kong, Dune: Part Two will still be in theaters at that time.

When three disparate souls, each with his own demons to fight, are being thrown together against the hustle and bustle of an emergency room, a hospital descends from a pristine sanctuary into an explosive battleground of stress and strife.

Zhau (Vicki Zhao) is a young doctor who desperately needs a successful operation on a high-profile patient to redeem a previous failure which not only cost the life of a patient but her self-esteem. Han (Wallace Chung) is a suspect of multiple armed robberies and homicides, who has been taken to the hospital after being shot with a bullet in his head during a showdown with the police. Officer Lok (Louis Koo) is at first sight a gung-ho policeman who has participated in the showdown, but when he makes desperate attempts to do Han in by exploiting Zhau’s weaknesses, it is apparent he is harbouring a much darker secret.

Shit hit the fan and all hell breaks loose when a platoon of armed robbers on a rescue mission starts fighting the police in the hospital with guns and ammunition galore.

A lonely young woman seeks the help of a website called Missed Connections - a forum that allows people to connect and find each other - to search for a man after what seems to be an unforgettable encounter.
