Directed by multi-award winning veteran Polish director Andrzej Wajda, Katyn investigates the murder of thousands of Polish officers by the Soviet Secret Police during World War II. Among those killed was Wajda's own father.

The disappearance of over 15,000 officers in 1940 was a mystery at first and news of the tragedy was not revealed until the spring of 1943, after the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union uncovered the mass graves in Russia's Katyn Forest. During the USSR's post-war occupation of Poland, Soviet propagandists blamed the deaths on the Nazis and set out to punish anyone speaking the truth. After fifty years of cold war secrecy, the Kremlin officially confessed in 1990 that Stalin and the KGB were responsible for the crime. Katyn uses stories from authentic diaries and letters to tell the fate of four officers and their families, and one woman's courageous determination to uncover the truth.

The life of Sandro (Aniello Arena), the leader of the Apache ultras group, arrives at a crossroads after he is denied access to his second home: the stadium. The last weeks of the Italian championship are marked by his relationship with Angelo (Ciro Nacca), a young boy looking for a mentor, the wonderful and tough Terry (Antonia Truppo), and by the search for his place in the world. Ultras, the first film by Francesco Lettieri, will be available on Netflix from March 20.

This is the true story of Freddy and Walter – two young Slovak Jews, who were deported to Auschwitz in 1942. On 10 April 1944, after meticulous planning and with the help and the resilience of their inmates, they manage to escape. While the inmates, they had left behind, courageously stand their ground against the Nazi officers, the two men are driven on by the hope that their evidence could save lives. Emaciated and hurt, they make their way through the mountains back to Slovakia. With the help of chance encounters, they finally manage to cross the border and meet the resistance and The Red Cross. They compile a detailed report about the systematic genocide at the camp. However, with Nazi propaganda and international liaisons still in place, their account seems to be too harrowing to believe.

It is 1940. The first transport of prisoners arrives at the newly created concentration camp Auschwitz. One of them is Tadeusz “Teddy” Pietrzykowski, pre-war boxing champion of Warsaw. The camp officers force him to fight in the ring for his and other prisoners’ lives. However, his every win strengthens the hope that Nazis are not invincible. Auschwitz officers notice the growing resistance. The confrontation with the authorities of the camp becomes inevitable.

‘The Champion of Auschwitz’ tells an unknown story of one of the first inmates of camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, prisoner number 77. During his 3-year stay in the camp, Tadeusz ‘Teddy’ Pietrzykowski fought over 40 victorious duels, becoming a symbol of hope for victory over Nazi terror. His on-screen history has been documented in detail based on archival statements of former prisoners of Auschwitz and the memories of the boxer himself.

Near the end of Dmitrii Meskhiev’s Battalion, the commander of the Women’s Battalion, Maria Bochkareva (played by Mariia Aronova), meets her abusive husband, Afanasii, at the front. Although she has served with distinction in the Great War and now outranks him, Afanasii tells his wife they should both go back home. When she refuses, he calls her a beast and beats her. He, along with his fellow male soldiers, cannot accept that his wife and other woman are soldiers. Later, the war-weary, rebellious men, Afanasii included, join Bochkareva and her battalion in the last Russian offensive of the war. Meskhiev’s film concludes at this moment in the summer of 1917 and therefore presents the Women’s Battalion as victorious for, as the end titles note, they inspired others to fight.
