The story of two English women living in India more than fifty years apart. Olivia shares a troubled marriage with Douglas Rivers, an English civil servant in the colonial India of the 1920s. Anne, Olivia's grand niece, comes to the subcontinent -- thirty years after the sun has set on the British empire -- to investigate Olivia's life, which her family regarded as "something dark and terrible". Shortly after her passage to India in 1923, the beautiful young Olivia finds herself bored by English colonial social circles -- she wonders how people who lead such exciting lives could remain so dull -- though she is entranced by India itself. Olivia is introduced to the Nawab of Khatm, a romantic and decadent minor prince who enjoys a Forsterian intimacy with his British confidant, Harry. The willful Englishwoman begins going to Khatm to spend time with the Nawab and they fall in love, engaging in an affair that is not without wrenching consequences in her public and private lives. In the present day of the film, Anne investigates Olivia's past with Inder Lal, her Indian landlord. Anne finds herself both in the same rooms and in the same predicament as her ancestress, as she herself becomes involved in a romantic entangelment with an Indian man. Heat And Dust cross-cuts between the lives of the two women as Anne discovers -- and then seems to repeat -- the scandal that her independent-minded ancestor caused two generations before. Anne must then re-assert her own independence, fifty years later...

NOSTALGHIA is Andrei Tarkovsky's brooding late masterpiece, a darkly poetic vision of exile. It was the first of his features to be made outside of Russia, the home to which he would never return.
Tarkovsky explained that in Russian the word "nostalghia" conveys "the love for your homeland and the melancholy that arises from being far away." This debilitating form of homesickness is embodied in the film by Andrei (Oleg Yankovsky, The Mirror), a Russian intellectual doing research in Italy. He becomes obsessed with the Botticelli-like beauty of his translator Eugenia (Domiziana Giordano), as well as with the apocalyptic ramblings of a self-destructive wanderer named Domenico (Erland Josephson, The Sacrifice).
Written with frequent Michelangelo Antonioni collaborator Tonino Guerra (L'Avventura), NOSTALGHIA is a mystical and mysterious collision of East and West, shot with the tactile beauty that only Tarkovsky can provide. As J. Hoberman wrote, "NOSTALGHIA is not so much a movie as a place to inhabit for two hours."

A rollicking, high flying thrill ride in the classic tradition of Romancing The Stone and Indiana Jones, High Road To China soars across six countries and two continents in the name of action and post-war adventure.
Brought together by fate, Patrick O'Malley (Tom Selleck, Magnum P.I) and Eve Tozer (Bess Armstrong, Jaws 3) are at odds from the start. He is a hard-chiseled, cynical biplane flyboy - often drunk and always unshaven. She is a headstrong young socialite, pushy by nature and used to getting what she wants. But when Eve's father Bradley (Wilford Brimley, Cocoon) disappears in Far East Asia, the two must get it together and find him before her entire inheritance falls into the hands of her father's shady business partner.
Featuring a rousing score by Oscar® winner John Barry (Dances With Wolves), from the director of action classics Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes, it's time to spin that prop, call 'contact - chocks away' and take off on a perilous ride sky high and beyond.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is a 1983 American fantasy film directed by Jack Clayton and produced by Walt Disney Productions from a screenplay written by Ray Bradbury, based on his novel of the same name. The title was taken from a line in Act IV of William Shakespeare's Macbeth: "By the pricking of my thumbs / Something wicked this way comes." The film stars Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd, and Pam Grier.
It was shot in Vermont and at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The film had a troubled production – Clayton fell out with Bradbury over an uncredited script rewrite, and after test screenings of the director's cut failed to meet the studio's expectations, Disney sidelined Clayton, fired the original editor, and scrapped the original score, spending some $5 million and many months re-shooting, re-editing and re-scoring the film, before its eventual release.
