Trailer for the 2005 drama Asylum, based on the novel of the same name by Patrick McGrath.

The film stars: Natasha Richardson, Ian Mckellen, Marton Csokas, Hugh Bonneville, Sean Harris, Joss Ackland and Judy Parfitt.

The film was directed by David Mackenzie with a screenplay by Patrick Marber and Chrysanthy Balis.

The film deals with themes of sexuality, class, repression, obsession, passion, madness and jealousy set against the grim backdrop of a Victorian asylum in the 1950s. Some terrific acting, especially from Richardson, Mckellen and Bonneville, but the film fails to live up to the source material, which is one of the author's best.

Since the only available copies of the trailer on the internet seem to all
be of garbage trash quality, I decided to use the bluray to remake the trailer as best as I could. Unfortunately the trailer uses takes and shots that are not in the movie so it isn't a perfect restoration.
