As the holidays approach, Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to have a perfect family Christmas, so he pesters his wife, Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo), and children, as he tries to make sure everything is in line, including the tree and house decorations. I react to the trailer for Sardar Udham, an Indian Hindi language film which deals with the aftermath of the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre (or Amritsar massacre). In 1919 soldiers from the British Indian army, under the command of UK officers, opened fire on Indians peacefully protesting after the arrest of key pro-independence leaders. Many hundreds were killed, with estimates of up to 1,500 casualties. In response, in 1940, Udham Singh assassinated British officer Michael O'Dwyer in London.

Sardar Udham, directed by Shoojit Sircar, explores these events. It stars Vicky Kaushal, Amol Parashar and Shaun Scott.

As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), who is still unmarried at 30. As the nation begins to feel the impact of divisive policies introduced by Britain's first female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson), tensions arise between her and the Queen which only grow worse as Thatcher leads the country into the Falklands War, generating conflict within the Commonwealth. While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, behind closed doors, the Royal family is becoming increasingly divided.
